Electric bikes welcome! \nYou’ll work in small groups with certified instructors to improve bike handling\, hazard avoidance\, and everyday riding skills for streets and shared paths. \nAll participants will receive a free pair of bike lights. \n— \nWhat we’ll cover: \n\nBike handling\, hazard avoidance\, and emergency maneuvers\nObservation\, signaling\, and scanning techniques for traffic\nRiding confidently on neighborhood streets and paths\n\n \nPart 1: Parking Lot Practice (3 hours) \nWe’ll group participants by experience level and practice on-bike drills in a controlled\, car-free space. You’ll practice bike handling\, balance\, hazard-avoidance skills\, and more. \nBreak: \nWe’ll take a half hour in between part 1 and 2 for a lunch break— please feel free to bring \nPart 2: On-Road Group Ride (2 hours) \nOnce foundational skills are built\, instructors will lead you out on nearby streets and paths to apply them in real riding conditions. DESCRIPTION:For adults and teens who have not yet learned to ride a bike or would like a refresher.\n\n\nThis three-hour workshop is for adults and teens who have not yet learned to ride a bike or would like a refresher on the basics of balancing\, pedaling\, and steering. \nOur trained instructors are friendly\, patient\, and will help you get off to a great start in a safe\, non-judgmental environment. \nYou’ll need a working bike to participate. We have a limited number of bikes available to rent— but we ask that you please only reserve a rental if you don’t already have access to a bike. \nThis workshop has a very low student-to-teacher ratio.
