SUMMARY:Solidarity Ride for Alex Pretti
DESCRIPTION:“Alex was one of us\, could’ve been any of us\, so as we mourn\, all of us can come together in unity to remember Alex for what he was.” \nAlex Pretti’s local bike shop in Minneapolis\, @angrycatfish is asking bikers to join in for a group ride to honor Alex. We are joining cyclists across the country to stand in solidarity against state violence. For more info\, and to see a map of rides being organized across the world\, see this piece from Bikepacking.com. \nThe East Bay ride is organized by local cyclists and community groups. Meet at Rockridge BART Plaza on Saturday 1/31 at 10am\, for a 10:30am roll-out. There will be donations requested for local Bay Area ICE defense networks as well as Minneapolis organizations. \nThere will be 2 routes\, but folks are welcome to take alternative paths. \n\nHills Route: 39.5 miles\, ending at Fruitvale Plaza\nFlat Route: 14 miles\, ending at Fruitvale Plaza\n\nFor the most up-to-date information\, follow along on this Instagram post.
